     He disagree with this idea. Because it’s an old idea. In Kumamoto, Kumamon won the “Yuru-character Grand Prix”, however, it is past thing and, it takes high cost about 60,000 Apols to make the costume. The higher price is risk for Apollon. It too much cost to make it because there is only 2% consumption tax.

     She agree with this idea. She has three reasons. First, it can be symbol of Apollon, and impress foreign people. Second, using Lion-sun’s illustration takes advantage to promote transportation. Third, many people can challenge various things with him. For example, Lion-sun can gave the experience of agriculture to some children.

     I agree wth this idea. I have three reasons. First, Lion-sun can be friendly character for many people. Second, it can impress Apollon effectively to everyone. Third, it can enhance the branding of Apollon’s products. As an actual example, when the farmers export or sell their products, they can use the illustration of the mascot and impress Apollon’s crops safety and deliciousness which grow up in rich environment.

     She is neutral for this idea. Because it has both good and worry aspects. As a good aspect, it can improve Apollon’s image and make Apollon more famous. As a bad aspect, Apollon is already tourism island, so she is concerned that it would be waste time to make it.

1. How would you use the profit by Lion-sun? (Bob Johnson)

     I and Lily answered this question. I said that I think it may use for Lion-sun’s activity costs and to make some place in Apollon more comfortably. 

     Lily said that it may use for many events for visitors and making Apollon more comfortably.

2. Do you think Lion-sun can make profit more than the cost to make? And I think Kumamon is simple character, so it become famous. But Lion-sun is too agriculture character for me, what so you think about that? (Mia Williams)

     I answered the first question. I said that I think we make only the illustration, so it takes not so much cost. And if the plan goes well, we will make the costume. So, it doesn’t take cost, and I think it can make more profit than the cost. 

     Lily answered the second question. She said that Lion-sun is also simple. Because he can put off the straw hat and rubber boots. It can be simple.

3. It is good that Lion-sun’s popularity become high and increasing the sale, but if it doesn’t go well, do you make the Lion-sun’s costume, or make another character? (John Smith)

     Lily answered this question. She said that if it doesn’t go well, we wouldn’t make the costume and another character.

4. Who will wear the costume? (Jordan Nakasy)

     I answered this question. I said that I think the person of the Apollon’s public relations department.

5. There is no country to make country’s mascot, though there are many prefecture’s mascot. I think it’s too heavy responsibility and great effects to everywhere on a national scale, what do you think about that? (Pepper Gruber)

     I answered this question. I said that I also think it’s hard and difficult to make it and manage activity’s effects. However, I think it can appeal the differences from any other tourist destinations and it will be benefit.

6. I can understand the disagreements to make the character, but no one can know it will be popular or not. Who will try it first? And I think we can try to make it, but why we can’t? (Sow Lee)

     Davis answered this question. He said that he can understand your opinion, too. However, he thinks that Apollon’s economy can’t endure the cost for Lion-sun. He thinks that 2% tax is too short to make the mascot and keep Apollon’s economy.

     Lily said that Lion-sun can gave the special experience for many children through the activity.

     I said that Lion-sun has the possibility to be popular and expand the products’ sale.

     He said that if there is any reason to make without developing economy. So, if it can give children experience and he thinks there are some contribution to Apollon.

     She said that she doesn’t think it will be famous only by seals. It is not enough to let the visitors know the mascot. It’s important to make it famous to people who have not visited Apollon.

◆My opinion

     I think making Lion-sun is good for Apollon. Because as I said, it can enhance many thing in Apollon. At first, I think Lion-sun is started from the illustration. And to use the illustration, people need to pass the  test of reliability to keep reliability and avoiding misuse. So you don’t need to afraid that breaking the good brand impression of Apollon’s products. 

     And it takes small costs for using the illustration, you don’t need to afraid that Apollon’s economy goes poverty. If the plan goes well, Lion-sun can be made as a costume. David said only 2% tax can’t endure the cost, however, I think it makes not only from inhabitants’ consumption tax but from the profit of Lion-sun’s illustration, so it won’t put pressures on Apollon’s finance. 

     By using Lion-sun’s character, we can attract the visitor from other country and expand sales of any products in Apollon. I feel that there are more good things than bad things. Therefore, I agree with this idea.

I'm Chipp White. I'm 20, and I work as a vet. I live with my parent, my little sister and my grandmother.

Issue: making an Apollon mascot

My opinion: For the idea

Reason: I think that it’s a good way to advertise Apollon. Even today, Apollon is popular for tourism. However, if there is a mascot, we can get more visitor and develop economy and industry. For example, the illustration is more interesting for many people than the letter, so it will impress and represent Apollon and can be one unique sightseeing spot. And in Apollon, there are a zoo and an amusement park. Mascot can appear the zoo or amusement park, and it can attract many people not only visitor from other country but also inhabitants. We can use the mascot for agriculture or any other business to appeal Apollon. In terms of agriculture, when the farmers in Apollon export or sell their products, they can use the illustration of the mascot and impress many people with Apollon, crops’ safety and deliciousness which grow up in Apollon’s rich environment.

Our discussion: Two people are for, One person is against, and one person is neutral.  People who are for said it will be good for Apollon. Person who is against said it is difficult to make and takes cost. Neutral person said it has not only good aspects but also a few concerns.

     He disagrees with this idea. He has two reasons. First, Apollon is a small island, so if there is a big airport, the environment will be destruction. An airplane emits carbon dioxides, or any exhaust gas. It is bad for atmosphere and any animals in Apollon. Second, when the airport is built, the people who live around the planned construction site will be annoyed by the noise. After the construction, the people are also annoyed from the noise of airplane.

     He disagrees with this idea. He has two reasons. First, the noise of engine is annoying for the people who live around the airport. It is not good for health. Second, it takes too much cost to build the airport. An airport needs to be safety, so we need a lot of carpenters and long time, so the profit to build it isn’t as same value as the disadvantage to do it.

     He agrees with this idea. He has two reasons. First, Apollon’s main industry is tourism, so if there is an airport in Apollon, the more visitors will come. And the Apollon’s economy will develop. Second, if there is the airport, farmers can export row foods like seafood and vegetables. 1. You said that the airport will control the number of flights to decrease the environmental problem. What’s the effect for environment in detail? (Kingsley Maskerar)

     Davis and Symons answered this question. They said that an airplane has air pollution like CO2 will be emit. Forest and any other environment will be affected badly.

2. You said that the warranty isn’t your problem to think, however, you also said that you will restrict the number of flights. I think that it is also our problem to think. If it is the same as your remarks, you can’t decide the number of flights, too. It’s same problem with previous one, isn’t it? Is the employees’ issue company problem? (Pepper Gruber)

     Symons answered this question. He said that he knew that. However, we can’t think about that problems as an airplane company. So, we said like that as one of countermeasures.

3. You said that if we build the airport, it will be build at the coast. However, I think that there are also many animals and fishes at the coast. And Apollon is tourism company, so many people maybe enjoy to see the sea view. If there is an airport, the view will be spoiled by the building. What so you think about that? (Chipp White, me)

     Symons answered this question. He said that Okinawa has  an airport at the coast, and there is also one of tourism prefecture. So, it would be better to build it like Okinawa.

4. You said that the airplane company will take cost to build, however, there is no company in Apollon now. Why the company exist? (Alex Mcadams)

     Davis answered this question. He said that other country airline company want to build an airport in Apollon. Because Apollon is good land for tourism.

5. You said that there is less the number of flights at night because of the noise trouble. What’s the merit? (Pepper Gruber)

      Symons answered this question. As Anthony said, he said that Apollon is an attractive island, and the airport will increase the benefits of tourism. Even if we decrease the number of flights, it will be benefits to come some visitors covered only daily flight and oversea’s flight.

6. You said about noise problem, but I think it could be solved by developing sound proof forests or walls around the runway. What do you think? (Anna Plowman)

     John answered this question. He said that it’s good opinion. However, government in Apollon may want to keep costs low to build the airport and something about airports. So, he thought that it is difficult to adopt the sound proof objects like Anna said.

     He thought that there isn’t enough countermeasures in case of typhoon or disasters.

     After listening some opinions, he changed to disagree. He realized environment is more important than developing any points of society.

     He thought that there are still many problems, but there are also some profits to build an airport and perhaps, the profits is more than the loss.

◆My opinion

     I disagree with this idea. I think that making an airport is good, however, there are a lot of problems. First, we need to think about where the airport is built. If the airport is built once, the people who live near the airport will affect the emissions from the airplanes or maybe annoyed by the noise of flight. Perhaps, during the construction, the inhabitants may be annoyed, too. Second, it takes much cost and time to build the airport. When we build an airport, we should make it as strong and safety as we could. So, we should cost a lot for building and takes a lot time to guarantee the safety. In addition, I think that no one has enough money to construct an airport. Of course, I feel that if there is an airport, our lives become more useful and our business will be bigger than before. Even if that is true, I can’t say the idea is enough for building, and I suppose to need to think about it more deeply. Therefore, I disagree with this idea.

     She agrees with this idea. She has two reasons. First, she works until around midnight, so if there is a 24-hours convenience store, it will be very useful for her and the people who works like her to buy some foods or products. Second, she said that the 24-hours convenience store will be a place of crimes prevention. If the person is in danger, he or she can ask to help any time, and the light of the convenience store makes around there brightly. Dark night is dangerous for going back to the home, but there is a light, it feels more comfortable for many people. Already there is some convenience stores, but 24-hours convenience store isn’t. It will be fit anyone’s life style and helpful in an emergency.

     She agrees with this idea. She has three reasons. First, anyone who want to get the money, they can use convenience store’s ATM system any time, if there is a 24-hours convenience store. Second, the employment will increase by the 24-hours convenience store. At the midnight, it needs the employees who works and Apollon has 3,000 clones, so we can employ them. Even if we think about this without the clones, some people who want to work or need money can get the work. Third, Apollon is a tourism country, so here is many visitors. They may come to Apollon at the midnight, at the time like that, they can buy some products and make travel comfortable, it’s very useful.

     He disagrees with this idea. He has two reasons. First, he thinks that the cost of construction is too high. If we build a new convenience store, we need to think the cost of land, building, employees and so on. Actually, we need think more about that. However, the students go back home at late night, it is so dangerous and he’s worry about that, because he also have the student years old sister.

However, he thinks that there are many older people in Apollon, and they won’t use it so much. He considers that how many people are there who use the convenience store around midnight. If there is not so many people, he thinks here is not so much needs to make it. Furthermore, he is worry about the people who work at night. He says it is more dangerous than the day, and it’s not good for their health. He also thinks that it’s good if there is the people who want to work.

     Spenser, Qinglong, and Matilda answered this question. And they all said that they have already discussed about this and agree.

2. Julia talked about OR code system. Can you tell me more about that? (Alex Mcadams)

     Julia answered this question. She said about the QR code in the case of no clerks. If it is difficult to employ some people, I suggest to use QR code system. The consumers can buy some thing without clerks by using the QR code and also use it when they enter the convenience store. It is safety and cost reduction.

3. The QR code system is good, but he has a better idea. The idea is that installing the street light over Apollon. They could protect clerks and local people. What do you think a bout that?(Theodore Symons)

     Julia answered this question. She said his idea is good, but we need to discuss about whether the 24-hours convenience store needs or not. 

4. People who agree with this idea said we will make only one 24-hours convenience store. But I think that the people who live in further place from it can’t use it. What do you think about that? (Chipp White, me)

     Julia and Matilda answered this question. Julia said that we will make one, and if this attempt works good, make more 24-hours one anywhere in Apollon. Matilda also said that the first one is the trial one and check the demand and if it is good, make more convenience stores somewhere.

5. Where are you going to make the 24-hours convenience store? And what do you think about the cost of QR code? (Mia Williams)

     Matilda and Julia answered this question. Matilda said that she thinks it will make main city Apo. Julia said that center of the city and she thinks that train station and bus station is more good place to make. And for the QR code system, Julia answered. She said that it takes cost but once we introduce the system, the store doesn’t need cost of employees. At first, the system takes cost, however, it is the same or more cheaper than employ people continue.

6. The security system is good, but we don’t need to talk about the danger or not. It is all same other stores about the conditions. What do you think? (Anna Plowman)

     Spenser and Julia answered this question. Spenser thinks that is good opinion. He said that he should not focus on the security problems. Julia also said that the security is one of the aspect but we should focus on the topic.

7. A security camera isn’t enough for security at midnight?, what do Qinglong think about that? (Pepper Gruber)

     Qinglong answered this question. He thinks that it’s enough for a day. However, in a midnight, he thinks that more hard security for clerk and many people who use it to be safety.

8. Julia and Matilda said that the 24-hours convenience store will be helpful in the disaster occurring, but how is it helpful working in detail? (Alex Mcadams)

     Matilda answered this question. She said that if the disaster occurs, the store can give some foods or products from their stocks to the people who affected by the disaster.

9. Are you managed the convenience store, Julia? You’re rich, and who will decide the place to make the 24-hours store? (Robert Brown)

     Julia answered this question. She likes her job, so she don’t want to be the owner of convenience store. And the place will be center profitably. She means the center of Apollon.

10. He thinks that many garbages will be increasing, if there is a new 24-hours convenience store. The garbages like plastics are in street or water. It’s not good for us. What do you think about that, Julia? (Robert Brown)

     Julia answered this question. She said that she can understand his idea, but if the store is there, it’s only the time becomes a few long, so the garbages will be increase but it’s not so much amounts and it will not become the harm.

     About this topic, all member agree to set up a 24-hours convenience store. However, they have to discuss more about the QR code system, workers like clones, and some problems in detail.

◆My opinion

     I agree with this idea. I have two reasons. First, I think that the 24-hours convenience store will be the helpful for some people. Maybe, there are not so many people who use it at midnight, however, the people who can’t go shopping enough at day time like Julia can use and help their lives and also tourists can use it. Second, it will make the employment in Apollon. I don’t know well about the clones, however, it will be help some one who want to work like not only students but also retired people. Therefore, I think it’s good to make 24-hours convenience store. About the discussion, Karen’s work is really good. She summarize the remarks and questions each time. It was really easy to understand for the audience and for me.
